A Philips Researcher since 1990, Benno has worked on Monte Carlo
simulation of the electron transport in flat-panel displays
based on electron hop transport, on light path optics design and
manufacturing for Blu-ray Disc development, on miniaturized
optics for small form factor optical drives in optical
recording, on camera modules based on FluidFocus technology, on
a miniature microscope based on scanning fiber technology and on
light-tissue interactions for biomedical applications. He also
led a deep-dive study on 'Light and Health'.
At present, he is focusing on minimally invasive devices for medical applications. He won the Gilles Holst Award (2005) and the Eureka Fair Award (2009) at Philips Research Eindhoven. |
