In 2001 we started HomeLab, and since then we
expanded it into ExperienceLab. We invite consumers and
customers to take part in our research, by allowing us to
watch them going about certain normal activities or
interacting with new technologies. In realistic environments
– like a home, a shop and a care setting – we can observe
what people do naturally, and see what they find simple or
difficult.
We can discuss with them their preferences and get their
reaction to new options. In this way, we can fine-tune
technologies so that they genuinely improve people’s lives
in ways that they themselves say they experience as
relevant, meaningful and simple.
Listening to people
ExperienceLab is the embodiment of Sense & Simplicity:
developing technology not for technology’s sake, but to
create products that enhance people’s lives in a meaningful
way. It’s about listening to our customers and consumers to
understand what motivates them, what they want and what they
really need.
Innovations that make sense
Located at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, the
Netherlands, it provides the perfect setting for the
discovery of the practical, social and psychological
implications of upcoming technologies. These discoveries
will help us to create innovations that really make sense.
