The patient can activate the Philips CareServant himself. For
this he uses the standard package provided by the hospital. In
addition, he can choose - in accordance with the hospital policy
- to pay for extra options such as internet, video on demand and
telephony services.
The patient is provided with a card for logging into the system.
This loads his personal settings into the system: selected
service package, balance amount, language and telephone number.
Only the patient can use this card. If he is transferred to
another ward, the card and the information on it travel with
him. Even if the Hospital Information System is being used
instead of the card.
And when the patient leaves the hospital, Philips CareServant
will draw up the bill.
