New business initiatives
|
Our venturing program provides a secure environment for
new businesses to emerge. It gives research ideas the chance
to flourish and prove their worth before being transferred
to the next stage of their development. When they have
successfully gone through the early stages of business
development, they are either moved to one of our three
Incubator organizations, or spun out to give them the chance
to thrive with help from external investors.
Through this strategic building up of emerging business
units, Philips creates early access to new fields of value
creation. Some examples of ventures that have originated
from Philips Research are:

without the need for special 3D glasses. It provides
