Joseph BraatJoseph is with Philips Research since 1973. He is an expert in optical recording systems as well as in other optical systems, e.g. for TV projection lenses, image sensors and optical lithography. He received the Edward Longstreth Medal for applied physics from the Franklin Institute, Philadelphia. He is a founding father of the European Optical Society and a director on the Board in charge with matters related to European projects. He is professor at the Delft University of Technology, and part-time employee of Philips Research.
