Gert 't Hooft
Gert has worked at Philips Research since 1979. He has been involved in the luminescence of III-V compounds and porous silicon, in ultrafast spectroscopy for the generation and detection of electrical transients in strip lines, in femtosecond Ti-sapphire lasers (at Bell Labs), semiconductor lasers and fourth-generation optical storage.

He has also worked on optical methods for medical applications focused on optical mammography. Current research topics are in the realm of minimally invasive healthcare solutions: multi-photon microscopy and fiber sensors.
