Cees is with Philips Research since 1986. He is a materials scientist with a broad experience in luminescent materials based on a solid theoretical background. He has made important contributions to the development of improved and novel luminescent materials for displays (cathode-ray tubes and plasma displays) as well as for light sources (discharge lamps and light-emitting diodes). He is part-time professor at the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands.
