Nigel
received his PhD in solid-state physics from the University of Leeds
before joining Philips Research to work on the electrical
characterization of semiconductors for hot electron transistors in
1984. Since 1986, he has worked on MOS devices and technology within
the low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) program, and has written some
of the earliest papers on polysilicon TFT device stability. He has
run several projects over the years, developing LTPS processes on
glass, plastic and metal substrates, and helping to demonstrate many
advanced applications of LTPS, such as PolyLED TV. Currently, he is
interacting with a number of partners to transfer his knowledge of
LTPS in the field of making displays. |
