Personal Nutrition Coach

Healthy eating is just a click away!

Wasn’t that a great lunch you had yesterday? But maybe it had a few too many calories… Wouldn’t you like to know?

Philips Research has developed the Personal Nutrition Coach, a service that can easily answer this question for you. Helping you to monitor your intake and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Smartly combining available information
In many corporate restaurants, you can pay with a smart card. By authorizing the Personal Nutrition Coach to access your purchase data, it can assess your meals for their nutritional values, including calories, fat, carbohydrate, protein, and fiber content. You can view the results through a personal and password-protected web page.

A personal coach
The Personal Nutrition Coach also acts as an interactive trainer, making recommendations for eating and exercise. All of this can be done without the need to maintain tedious and time-consuming manual food logs, making the Personal Nutritional Coach a valuable aid in maintaining a healthy lifestyle!

Three-month pilot
The Personal Nutrition Coach is a research activity, and is currently being trialled for three months at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Philips Research intends to commercialize the system, and is looking for partners in the Food Retail industry to investigate the opportunities.

Can you recall what you had for lunch yesterday? How many calories did you consume and was it a healthy meal? Chances are that you have other things on your mind that are seemingly more important.
